The link between the owners, our other departments, the vessels, the charterers and every third party involved with the ships.
Ship agents, chandlers, bunker suppliers, shippers, receivers and stevedores all come through the operations department.
What the department does
- Post-fixture support to the vessels and voyage instructions
- Making sure each ship performs as agreed in the charter party
- Safe, efficient carriage and delivery of cargo
- Supervising the disbursement of the funds needed to run the ships
- Collecting freight, hire and demurrage from charterers
- Arranging bunker supply
Cargo handling, port activities, pilotage, towage, wharfage, dockage, canal transits, and the loading and discharging of vessels are all supervised by the department.
This day-to-day involvement keeps us close to current market conditions, which is what keeps us competitive.
